Who is charged for shipping costs?
For shipping an instrument in Greece and Cyprus, transport costs are free of charge.
For the purchase of strings worth more than EUR 60, shipping costs are not charged to the buyer.
To send a musical instrument outside of Greece and Cyprus:
If the value of the order is up to EUR 1900, the cost of the transfer is entirely borne by the buyer.
If the value of the order is more than 1900 Euros the transport costs are split 50-50 between the workshop and the buyer.
The shipping company we use is UPS.
In the event of change, repair, maintenance or any further movement of the instrument, the owner is charged.
Can I order an instrument with decoration other than yours?
The decorative elements of our instruments belong exclusively to our workshop and happen to be commercially protected. We don’t use copies of other people work and we also don’t use decorative elements that do not belong to our ‘repertoire’ of decorations. However, you can order an instrument without decorations.
How can I be assured that the instrument I choose will satisfy me in terms of sound?
In the case that you are not satisfied please see the section on guarantees. One can make as many changes as necessary in order to find the instrument that is fully satisfactory. The customer will only be charged for additional shipping costs.
Should I choose a treble or bass instrument?
As a musical instrument ages it matures and its sound becomes stronger and more bass. It is advisable for a young instrument not to be especially bass to start with since there is a danger that with time it may sound excessively or unpleasantly bass.
Do decorations influence the sound?
As represented by the Chladni charts, as well as the "tuning" of the loudspeaker with the help of electronic sensors (the method we follow in our workshop), only the decorations (figures) that are located on the sound-board affect the sound. However, even there the material that we use is exceptionally thin layers of wood of different colours that are compatible with good sound. This is the reason that we purposely avoid plastic as a decorative material. For instance, the black background one sees in the decoration of the bouzouki is actually painted wood.
Do you accept instruments not made by you in exchange for one of your own instruments?
No and the reason is that we are only familiar with the way our instruments are made and have complete knowledge of their stability. Thus, we can only exchange our instruments with any one of our instruments.
